"Bo: Bugs, Darkness, and the Final ‘Let’s Go’"

Characters:
📖 Narrator – The fabulous guide through plagues, panic, and power moves.
🌈 Moses (Moshe) – The liberation-minded leader who’s still rocking staff chic and subtle queer leadership vibes.
🎤 Aaron (Aharon) – The glam sibling hype-person who’s basically Moses' personal PR manager.
👑 Pharaoh – The eyeliner-clad control freak with denial issues and the most dramatic mood swings in Egypt.
🧛 Locusts – A swarm with attitude. (Played by students or puppets.)
🕶️ Darkness – A character, literally just someone in black with sunglasses and major main character energy.
💋 God (The Voice) – Still mysterious, still dramatic, always with the perfect timing.
🐑 Israelite Extras – A chorus of queerly skeptical, matzah-packing neighbors.

Scene 1: Locusts, But Make It a Parade
Narrator: Welcome to Bo, where the plagues just keep getting more chaotic, and Pharaoh keeps being… Pharaoh.
(Moses and Aaron storm into Pharaoh’s palace, again. Pharaoh is lounging with his royal fan club.)
Moses: Pharaoh, let our people go. For real this time. Please?
Pharaoh: (twirling a gold ring) Hmm... no. I’m still not convinced. You can take the men, but not the glitter, er, the women and children.
Aaron: (snapping a fan open) That’s not how liberation works.
God (offstage voice): Okay, locusts. You’re on.
(A swarm of sassy locusts invades. One of them breakdances. Another eats Pharaoh’s curtains.)
Pharaoh: (screaming) My basil plants! MY TAPESTRIES! OKAY OKAY OKAY, JUST GET RID OF THEM!
Narrator: Spoiler: Pharaoh changes his mind again. Like an ex who texts “I miss you” after three plagues.

Scene 2: It’s Getting Real Dark in Here
Narrator: Next up: Darkness. Not just nighttime. We're talking queer theater blackout dramatic. No one can see anything... except, of course, the Israelites, who remembered to pack flashlights.
(Enter Darkness, in sunglasses and a long black cloak, voguing slowly across the stage.)
Darkness: No light. No glam. Just vibes.
Egyptians: (bumping into each other) I can’t find my sandals!
Where are my sequins?
WHO TOOK MY CAT?!
Pharaoh: (sitting alone, talking to a candle that isn’t lit) Maybe… maybe I am the problem.
Narrator: But once the lights come back on, guess what? Yup, Pharaoh backtracks again. Commitment issues much?

Scene 3: The Warning They Should’ve Taken Seriously
Moses: Pharaoh, this is your final warning. If you don’t let the people go, something terrible will happen. Like, midnight-level bad.
Pharaoh: (dramatically flipping his cape) Get out! I don’t want to see your face again!
Moses: (smiling sweetly) Cool. See you never.

Scene 4: Queer Exodus Planning Committee
(Back at the Israelite camp. Everyone is prepping for the Big Escape™ like it’s Pride float assembly night.)
Aaron: Okay, everyone, lamb’s blood on the doorposts, unleavened bread on deck, and pack LIGHTLY. We are not schlepping furniture through the desert.
Israelite 1: Do we have to eat bitter herbs? Can’t we season them with something cute?
Moses: Symbolism, darling. Eat the herbs. Tell the story. Remember the struggle.
Israelite 2: Can I at least bring my gold bangles?
Aaron: Only if you’re ready to run in heels.

Moral of the Story:
🌈 Don’t dim your light just because Pharaoh is in denial.
🧃 Sometimes, the only way out is through a plague or ten. Stay fabulous.
🍞 Unleavened bread is fine, but community, courage, and storytelling are the real sustenance.
🖤 Liberation requires planning, flair, and just enough chaos.
🎭 When the darkness hits, shine brighter (and bring a friend with a flashlight).
Narrator: And that’s Bo, a parasha of plagues, prep, and powerful queer resistance energy. Next stop: Exodus, baby! Pack your matzah and meet us at the sea! 💡🌈✨
Next week: Beshalach, where Beshalach is an epic road trip with tambourines, sea-splitting choreography, and lots of complaints about snacks. 🌊🥁🍪
