🎬 Scene 1: One Last Mic Drop
Narrator:
Parashat Devarim opens the book of Deuteronomy, which is basically Moses’ farewell tour:
✨ The Devarim World Tour: One Man. Forty Years. Many Feelings. ✨
Moses: (standing on a rock, holding a scroll and a reusable water bottle)
Okay folks! Before you cross into the Promised Land, I’ve got THOUGHTS. We’ve got receipts to review, lessons to unpack, and yes, I'm gonna name names.
Israelites: (muttering)
This again?
Moses:
Yes, this again. If I had to wander with you for forty years, the least you can do is listen while I recap. With commentary. And some light guilt.

Moses:
Remember when we left Egypt and everyone said, “We believe you, Moses!” And then five minutes later you were like, “Let’s go back!”?
Queer Israelite Chorus: (harmonizing)
"Are we there yet? We miss the cucumbers!" 🎶
Moses:
And THEN you sent spies into the land, and ten of them freaked out. And we all ended up camping in drama for forty years.
Narrator:
Devarim is Moses’ memoir. Part stand-up routine, part roast, part spiritual reckoning.





🌈 Scene 3: Moses Gets Personal
Moses:
And hey, I’m not perfect. I lost my cool with a rock. I won’t cross over with you. But that doesn’t mean I didn’t love you.
Narrator:
This is Moses, the queer elder, passing down not just rules, but resilience.
Saying: “Here’s what I’ve learned. Don’t make my mistakes. Or at least, make new ones.”

🧭 Queer leadership is about honesty, legacy, and fierce storytelling.
🌈 Sometimes the real promised land is learning to love your past and still move forward.
🎤 Make your exit count. Especially when you’ve spent years wandering with people who didn’t always “get” you.
📚 We don’t just inherit commandments, we inherit courage. Use it wisely. And with sparkle.
