💅 God (The Voice) – Dramatic, mysterious, and has strong feelings about idolatry.
📜 Stone Tablets – Played by two students holding foam-core “divine PDFs.”
🔨 Crafty Gays – A couple of artsy Israelites who really, really enjoy melting things.





Scene 1: Divine Downtime and Sparkly Distractions
Narrator:
Welcome to Ki Tisa, where Moses is having a deep mountaintop moment with God, and the Israelites are having a full-blown spiritual identity crisis down below.
Moses: (up on Sinai, holding the tablets)
Okay God, so we’ve got the commandments, some incense instructions, and, wait, is that the smell of… glitter and drama?
God (booming):
Your people are already breaking the first rules. They’re partying around a golden calf.
Moses:
I was gone for like, a few days!
God:
Welcome to leadership.





Scene 2: Golden Calf Queer Chaos
(Aaron stands awkwardly in front of a very shiny, very extra Golden Calf, while Israelites dance around like it’s Studio 54: Sinai Edition.)
Israelite 1:
We need a God we can see! And maybe… bedazzle.
Israelite 2:
Aaron, do something! We’re spiraling!
Aaron:
Uh… okay. Everyone take off your jewelry and throw it in the fire!
Crafty Gays: (melting gold)
Oh we are having SO much fun right now.
Golden Calf: (striking a pose)
Moooooove over commandments. I'm the moment now.





Scene 3: Moses Returns – With Rage
(Moses storms down the mountain, stone tablets in hand, jaw clenched.)
Moses:
WHAT. IS. THIS.
Israelite Chorus:
We… got bored? And maybe emotionally codependent?
Golden Calf: (flipping bangs)
I’m just here to serve ✨golden energy✨.
Moses: (breaking the tablets)
I cannot believe this. These were hand-carved by God! Limited edition! No reprints!
Aaron:
Okay but, listen, I panicked! And the people really wanted a disco cow??
Moses:
You had ONE job.





Scene 4: Forgiveness, Take Two
Narrator:
Moses goes back up the mountain, this time, with a bit more eye-roll, and pleads with God not to cancel the Israelites entirely.
God:
Ugh. Fine. But YOU carve the next tablets.
Moses:
Great. DIY commandments.
God:
And tell the people I’m compassionate… but not afraid to set boundaries.





Moral of the Story:
🐮 Idols may sparkle, but substance sticks.
🔥 Sometimes we make a hot mess, and we still get another chance.
💅 Forgiveness doesn’t mean forgetting; it means growing (and not melting your jewelry next time).
📜 Sacred community takes patience, real leadership, and sometimes a second set of tablets.
