Scene 1: Time to Count the Sparkle
Narrator:
Welcome to Pekudei, the final parasha of Exodus, a.k.a. the closing credits of the Mishkan Build-a-Sanctuary saga. Moses is about to do what every Type A queer knows is critical: account for every single item.
Moses:
Okay! Before we say “Shechinah, move in,” let’s do one last inventory. I want to make sure every socket, sequin, and sacred spoon is accounted for.
Bezalel: (tired but fabulous)
We literally bedazzled every curtain by hand. If I never see another crimson thread again, I will not be mad.
Oholiab:
I personally stitched 73 pomegranates. I am emotionally attached to 12 of them.





Scene 2: Audit, But Make It Sparkle
(Enter the Inventory Angel, holding a glittery abacus and clipboard.)
Inventory Angel:
Let’s go! Ark? ✔️
Menorah? ✔️
Shimmering Ephod with sapphire stones? ✔️
Neon sash of righteousness? ✔️
Craft Chorus: (chanting)
🎵 “We built this Mishkan… with glitter and love!” 🎵
Moses:
I’m proud of you all. And I didn’t even have to yell. (Pauses) That much.





Scene 3: Dressing the High Priest, Season Finale Edition
Narrator:
Now it’s time for the grand finale: dressing Aaron in full High Priest drag, pomegranates, bells, breastplate, and holy slayage.
Oholiab: (helping Aaron dress)
Turn to the left. Now strut. Now... try not to trip over the hem.
Aaron:
This is… heavier than expected.
Bezalel:
Honey, holiness is a look, and sometimes it’s a weighted garment.





Scene 4: God Moves In (No U-Haul Needed)
Narrator:
And then, the big moment: the Mishkan is complete. The community has given, crafted, sewn, hammered, wept, and glittered together.
God (offstage, dramatically):
Nice. I’m coming in.
(A cloud descends. A glitter cannon goes off. The Divine Presence fills the Mishkan like Beyoncé arriving on stage.)
Craft Chorus:
We did it! We made a home… for everyone!





Moral of the Story:
📋 Accountability is holy. So are spreadsheets.
🪡 Finishing something with love, beauty, and intention? That’s queer sacredness.
