🔥 God (The Voice) – Big feelings, big flames, big opinions on snacks.
🌈 Moses (Moshe) – Spiritual leader, rule-enforcer, and slightly stressed event planner.
👑 Aaron (Aharon) – Newly-minted High Priest, still adjusting to the weight of the ephod (and the spotlight).
👯 Nadav & Avihu – Aaron’s sons, enthusiastic but... not great with instructions.
🧂 Kosher Unicorn – A sassy mythical animal who got left off the food list and is not over it.
🍤 Shellfish – Salty, dramatic, and banned.
🐄 Clean Cow – Chill, confident, kosher, and low-maintenance.





Scene 1: It’s (Finally) Showtime!
Narrator:
Welcome to Parashat Shmini, where after seven whole days of priestly prep, it’s time for Aaron to debut as High Priest! Sacrifices are ready, outfits are fabulous, and God is about to make an entrance.
Moses: (clapping hands)
Alright everyone, let’s keep the offering energy high and the unauthorized incense low.
Aaron: (adjusting robes)
I’m nervous. What if I trip over the altar?
Narrator:
Spoiler: you don’t trip, but your kids? Well... stay tuned.





Scene 2: Too Much Fire, Not Enough Boundaries
Nadav: (to Avihu)
Let’s bring our own incense mix! Lavender, eucalyptus, and a splash of ✨chaos✨.
Avihu:
Ooooh yes. Unauthorized, but make it fashion.
God: (offstage)
What. Are. You. Doing?
Narrator:
One dramatic whoosh of fire later... 🔥
Moses: (blinking)
Welp. That’s why we follow the ritual steps, kids.
Aaron: (quietly)
I... have no words.
Narrator:
In one fiery moment, Aaron is faced with loss and leadership, and says nothing. Sometimes, the holiest thing you can say is nothing at all.





Scene 3: Let’s Talk About Kosher, Baby
Narrator:
Meanwhile, God gives the original version of “Chopped: Holy Edition.” Animals are now sorted into “yes,” “no,” and “absolutely not.”
Clean Cow: (posing)
I’m grass-fed, chill, and chew my cud. Total catch.
Shellfish: (dramatically flipping tail)
I may not chew cud, but I’m the drama. And salty.
Kosher Unicorn: (stomping in glitter)
So I don’t exist AND I’m not kosher? Rude.
Moses:
Listen, these rules aren’t about who’s fancy. They’re about boundaries, intention, and building community through conscious choices.
Aaron:
It’s not about what’s in your pantry. It’s about what’s in your heart. And maybe your digestive tract.





Moral of the Story:
🔥 Holy moments require preparation, and a clear sense of boundaries.
🌈 Queer sacredness means knowing when to shine, and when to pause.
🍤 Not everything tasty is meant for you. And that’s okay. (Looking at you, shrimp.)
🎭 Spiritual enthusiasm is great. Spiritual recklessness? Not so much.
🕯️ Sometimes the most sacred thing is silence, presence, and just being there.
