"Yitro: Advice, Thunder, and Divine Drama"

Characters:
📖 Narrator – Here to translate thunderous Torah into sassy storytelling.
🌈 Moses (Moshe) – Still overwhelmed, overworked, and over it, but trying to do it all anyway.
🧠 Yitro (Jethro) – Moses’ non-Israelite father-in-law with major “queer mentor energy” and spreadsheet-level wisdom.
🎤 Tzipporah – Moses’ fabulous wife who does not have time for his burnout.
📣 Israelite Chorus – A dramatic, demanding, and slightly chaotic people who always have questions.
🌩️ God (The Voice) – Booming, mysterious, and kind of a divine drag performer who loves making an entrance.
🪩 Sinai (The Mountain) – A literal diva who only reveals her secrets with smoke, fire, and stage presence.

Scene 1: Moses Needs a Break
(Moses sits at a giant desk piled with scrolls, sheep complaints, missing sandal reports, and emotional Torah DMs.)
Narrator:
Welcome to Parashat Yitro, where Moses is doing what too many queer leaders do: everything. Himself. All the time.
Moses:
Okay, next! Who’s got a problem with their tent neighbor? Who needs help with a goat dispute? Who needs guidance on spiritual purpose AND where to find firewood?
Israelite Chorus: (all yelling at once)
I do! I do! They stole my goat!
Can you bless my lentil soup?
My cousin says I can’t braid tassels that way!
Tzipporah: (swooping in, fierce)
Moses. Love. You’re burnt out. You’re turning into a Torah-zilla.
Moses:
But they need me!
Tzipporah:
And you need sleep. And skincare. And boundaries.

Scene 2: Enter Yitro, the Queer Wisdom Guru
(Yitro glides in wearing flowy robes, sipping tea, radiating retired-therapist energy.)
Yitro:
Shalom, son-in-law! You look… like you haven’t sat down since Egypt.
Moses:
It’s fine! I’m fine! Everything’s fine! (Eye twitch.)
Yitro:
Nope. Sit. We're fixing this.
Narrator:
And here comes the first-ever Torah coaching session.
Yitro:
Listen: You’re fabulous. But you’re not a one-person Torah hotline. You need delegation.
Moses:
Delegation? Like… other people doing things?
Yitro:
Exactly! Create tiers. Judges for small stuff, elders for medium stuff, you for the big drama.
Tzipporah:
Like a Torah management pyramid!
Moses:
This… this might actually work.

Scene 3: Sinai Goes Full Broadway
(Cut to: Mount Sinai, suddenly glowing, smoking, and rumbling like the finale of a queer fire show.)
Narrator:
With the leadership drama settled, it’s time for the main event: God coming out… as Lawgiver.
God (booming voice):
GET READY FOR MY BIG REVEAL. Ten commandments. Big energy. No filters.
Sinai: (in full diva mode)
Cue thunder. Cue smoke. Cue fabulousness.
(The people scream, fall back, and dramatically cover their faces.)
Israelite Chorus:
Too much! Too loud! We want captions!
Moses:
It’s okay, I’ll talk to God. You get the summary later.
God:
I’m not mad. Just… awe-inspiring. It’s my thing.

Scene 4: Torah, Boundaries, and Group Projects
Narrator:
And just like that, Moses learns to set boundaries, the people get Ten Big Rules, and Sinai gets her moment to shine.
Yitro:
Told you so. Also, I’m going back to Midian. No way am I getting stuck in your group project. Love you all.
Tzipporah: (hugging him)
Safe travels, Abba. Don’t forget to write.

Moral of the Story:
🧠 Good leaders delegate. Even Moses needed help, and a nap.
🌈 Chosen family (like Yitro!) can be the wisest voices in your life.
🌩️ God’s voice may be thunderous, but Torah is meant to be shared, not shouted alone.
🪩 Every mountain has its moment. Let Sinai shine.
👯‍♀️ Queer community means lifting each other up, not burning ourselves out.

Narrator:
That’s Yitro, a parasha full of wisdom, boundaries, and divine spectacle. See you next week for more Torah, more glitter, and more sacred chaos! ✨🪩🌈
Next week: Mishpatim, where Mishpatim takes a sharp turn into ancient group chat rules, and we finally find out what to do if your ox has anger issues. ⚖️🐂📚
